Cernita is designed so that this policy can stay short: the app runs entirely on your device and does not operate any servers of its own.
What we collect
Nothing. Cernita has no server, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no account system. Your photos and your swipe decisions never leave your phone.
Apple services we use
Cernita has no server of its own and does not transmit data to us or any third party. It uses two of Apple's own systems:
- iCloud - to sync your lifetime stats and badges across your own devices.
- StoreKit - to process the optional lifetime-unlock purchase, including when Apple shares it with your family.
Both are handled entirely by Apple. We never see, receive, or store your iCloud data or payment information ourselves.
Photo library access
Cernita asks for photo library access solely to show you your own photos, to delete the ones you confirm, and to save a trimmed copy of a video when you ask for one. All processing happens on-device using Apple's PhotoKit and AVFoundation frameworks. Photos you delete, and the full-length original of a video you trim, move to your iPhone's Recently Deleted album, where iOS keeps them for 30 days.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps a small local record of which photos you have already reviewed, counters for photos sorted, videos trimmed, and space freed, and your view preferences such as the active filter and whether the details panel is open. This data lives only in the app's own storage and is removed when you delete the app.
Changes
If a future version of Cernita ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships.
